If you go to New York and you do nothing else do
I know it looks expensive. Believe me it is worth EVERY CENT!
You get a personal tour from a native New Yorker. Ours was Ted Kemm and he taylored the tour to our needs, looked up facts about the 5th November which was Noel’s Birthday (the next day). We were on Bleeker Street the day before Art Garfunkel turned 72! Whoopi Goldberg was born there. There is so much musical history in the Village!
and just plain New York Historical history! There’s even a little piece of The Hilly Place inside some railings where there has been no history since the native population stood there — no building — no battle — no change.
The Half Apple was about 5 miles of New York and Ted was with us for over four hours. He was endlessly entertaining and affable. He made sure we got stops and he got us some Chinese Pork Dumplings to eat at The Five Points which is now a children’s playground and Park. He left us back to our hotel. He even gave us his number — just in case!!!
This is New York like you can never see it or know it without a personal guide and next time we go we’re doing the other Half of the Apple.
Trivia(It was on a fifth November that Christopher Columbus wrote in his diary that he’d found a new food source. Sweetcorn!)
