And that line theme was picked up in the invitations, cards, seating bows, table decorations — even little beads around the stem of the wine glasses. Sarah made them all! And Sarah made the lace cape she wore.
It was a happy occasion, the wedding of our neighbour Sarah Brown to John Garner last Friday. The sun didn’t shine. It was cold out — too cold for outdoor photos and so I still have the confetti I was going to throw. I was wearing a wool coat so I was snug but the bridesmaids must have benn frozen and the bride’s mum Susan here with on of them.
Sarah and John outside Bothal Church
Nobody shivered too much. Smiles provided the sunshine. The groom broke down a bit, the bride was radiant, the service was beautifully conducted by Canon Park at the lovely mediaeval church in Bothal and the reception at Longhirst was well done — lovely food and wine and good will flowed all day and into the night.
We were glad to be invited being only neighbours. Having no family near, we don’t get to many weddings. The last was in 2001 Kris and Gaving Kirby 🙂 All in all warm memories of a cold spring day and we wish them all the love in the world.
