I am not the intrepid traveller. I like the quiet life. In fact I can be somewhat reclusive! But when there are such friends to be met, it is well to put one’s personal discomfort aside a while and go walkabout and that is just what I have been doing for the past three weeks in Minnesota and Canada.
Part of the incentive for this trip was to meet in person my co-editor of Every Day Poets, Kathleen Cassen Mickelson. Noel and I had the great privilege of being taken to the heart of her lovely family for two weeks – of which more anon in pics and tales.
Another was the launch of Every Day Poet’s ANTHOLOGY TWO. It was published while I was there and Dave Moorehouse and his wife Julia travelled all the way from the Upper Penninsula to be with us for that event. Dave is also a writewords buddy. And there the three of us are! United by poetry and the wonders of the internet. Had you told me of this when I was a child, I’d have thought it Sci-Fi.
But there’s MORE – so much more to tell of my three week tour of friends and places I would never have thought to visit. I took snaps all the way and came back with so many good memories. This blog memorabelia will last for weeks so watch this space and…
give me time – I have jet lag.
Thank you to all of you who made this such a memorable trip.
