Mid-summer’s Eve and a wonderful night spent at the house of Robin and Penny Minney in the company of other lady writers all of whom had brought things to read and things to EAT 🙂 Lovely atmosphere and some really entertaining writing.  Here are a few pics to give you a flavour of the evening.

I’d been admiring Penny’s garden, especially her fruit trees and bushes, (thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s greengages eh?) saying how much jam I could make when she observed I was just the right person then to take this lot off her hands as she was going away and they would perish and she pointed out a display of blackcurrant branches in the porch. She asked if anyone else wanted some but nobody did – unfathomable – so I got the lot. There was a pound and a half of fruit on these branches! Surprising what Oonah can make with a pound and a half of free berries 🙂

 Don’t they look lovely? I should say Didn’t they…

Well they won’t perish now!

Blackcurrant Gin

This will be ready on the Autumn Equinox but it’ll probably taste even better at Christmas. I don’t know what it’ll be like but it’ll remind me of Penny’s and Mid-Summer.
