Well okay I am waxing a bit nostalgic but today is my birthday and thirty years ago I was just 26 and looking forward to my wedding – in August 1980.

So I thought I’d post a few memories here and there – show what a hip chick I was back then 😉

No I can't play the drums and at the time Noel couldn't ride a motorbike either.

We were living in bedsit land – Conway Rd, Cardiff, Wales and I was teaching French in Ely.  My husband to be was training as a psychiatric nurse – given the circumstances, it might be said he needed his head examined 😉  This was his first motorbike – a CZ – great little workhorse!  We’d gone to Hull so my brother Stuart (Paddy Kyle d. 1999)  could meet my fiance before the wedding.  He used to sing Country and the boys in the band set me up.  I think it was the Working Men’s Club in Beverley…

So what did I do on my 26th birthday?  Nope – gone – not a clue – as lost as the proverbial chord.  We probably went to our favourite restaurant – The Paradise Tandoori in Canton…

Come to think of it we’ll probably go to our favourite restaurant The Tandoor Mahal tonight – Plus ca change… eh?
